Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola commented on the FA Cup 1/16 final match against Tottenham (1:0):
“Judging by the statistics and the way we played, I’m very pleased. We performed incredibly well today. Everything made me happy, from the 1st to the 90+5th minute. We are trying to defend the title and it is difficult to play here. We create a lot in every game and show courage with or without the ball, so I’m very pleased.
Nathan Ake’s goal? He has incredible pace from set-pieces and in attack and is one of his best skills.
Will Klopp leave Liverpool at the end of the season? He is an absolutely incredible coach. I don’t know him well, but he’s also an incredible person. I had a feeling that he was also leaving us for Manchester City, since Liverpool were our main rivals during these years.
He will be missed in the Premier League, I personally will miss him. But I’m glad because I’ll sleep a little better without it the night before the Liverpool game! But I wish him all the best. He won’t admit it, but he will come back.
All coaches will feel tired after working for many years, I feel it. I felt it at Barcelona, so I completely understand it.”
