Bundesliga: Mainz releases El Ghazi because of his support for Palestine and he responds: This is nothing compared to the hell in Gaza
TThe El Ghazi case has reached its climax Mainz. The German club has published on its official website the dismissal of the Dutch footballer of Moroccan descent Anwar El Ghazi for statements in support of Palestine that he posted on his social networks on October 17.
Far from reconsidering his position as suggested by the club, the player noted in another statement that he does not regret his decision.
“I do not distance myself from what I said and I support humanity and the oppressed today and until my last breath,” he wrote El Ghaziwho has only played three games this season.
It was then that Mainz stated that they would investigate these facts legally to evaluate them and that this ultimately led to the football player’s dismissal.
“1. FSV Mainz 05 terminated the contractual relationship with Anwar El Ghazi on Friday and released the player with immediate effect. The club is taking this action in light of the player’s statements and posts on social media,” the German site’s official website said.

The footballer responded to the dismissal on his Instagram account with a message in which he once again expressed his support for the people of Gaza.
“Stand up for what is right, even if that means standing alone. The loss of my livelihood is nothing compared to the hell unleashed on the innocent and vulnerable in Gaza. Stop the killing.”
